Executive co-chairmen Avram and Joel Glazer will attend Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final, the first United game the two brothers have been to since Sir Jim Ratcliffe completed his acquisition of a minority stake in the club.

Ratcliffe is also expected to be in attendance at Wembley on Sunday. The British billionaire will not be there for kick off after taking part in the London marathon, but is hoping to make it for the second half.

Jason Wilcox, United’s new technical director, will also be in attendance after.

United confirmed in December that a deal had been agreed for Ratcliffe and INEOS to take a 25 per cent stake in the club, and this was completed in February. The deal resulted in Ratcliffe’s INEOS taking control of the football operations at United.

Four of the Glazer siblings, Kevin, Bryan, Edward and Darcie, are on United’s board of directors in addition to Avram and Joel, who have the most influence on the day-to-day running of the club.

However, Joel and Avram attend United matches infrequently — Avram attended the Carabao Cup final victory over in February last year, and this was the first time he had watched a United game in person since the opening day of the 2022-23 season.

Edward Glazer, however, did attend United’s 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on April 7.

United have confirmed a number of changes to their football hierarchy since Ratcliffe’s minority investment was confirmed, with Wilcox beginning work as technical director “with immediate effect” after he left his role.

Wilcox will report to the sporting director, who will have overall responsibility for football performance, recruitment and operations. United have said that an appointment will be confirmed in due course. Dan Ashworth is expected to assume this role

United have also confirmed that current technical director Darren Fletcher “will continue to play a key role in the football leadership team working across the men’s first team and academy”.

New chief executive Omar Berrada is joining at the end of the season

United play Coventry at Wembley as they attempt to reach the final for a second successive season, in what would be the club’s first appearance in a final since Ratcliffe and INEOS’ minority investment was confirmed.

Manchester City will await the winner in next month’s final after Pep Guardiola’s side beat Chelsea 1-0 in Saturday’s semi-final. City beat United 2-1 in last year’s final.
